    How the public became interested in medical science

    When historian Bert Hansen visited CHF last week to participate in our webcast he set aside some time to talk to us about his book Picturing Medical Progress from Pasteur to Polio. He described how a confluence of forces in the late 19th century paved the way for a greater appreciation of the importance of medical research.
